Houston Mercedes Brake Repair

Is your brake pad indicator on your Mercedes Benz dashboard? Most Mercedes drivers are not aware of the specialty brake components on their vehicles that allow for premium stopping power. Modern technology has replaced the old “squeal strip“ method with an electronic sensor that turns on a message on the dashboard that indicates that your brake system needs attention. Typically when this message appears your brake pads, rotors and sensors need replacement. Whether you need a front or rear brakes, it is important to replace all three components on your Mercedes Benz:

  • Brake pads
  • Brake rotors
  • Brake sensors

Here’s a little bit of information on why it is necessary to replace all 3 components during your Mercedes Benz brake service:

  • Run your fingernail over the rotor, if it catches, that rotor is too rough
  • If a rotor is too thin, the rotor will warp
  • No rotor should be re-used unless its measured thickness is over the manufacture minimum thickness.
  • Brake sensors are a one-time use item, as well, and need to be replaced with the other parts of the Mercedes Benz braking system.

When it is time for your Mercedes Benz brakes to be replaced, don’t hesitate to contact us! We are here to ensure your safety and look forward to assisting you!
