AC Drier Services
The drier is used in air conditioning applications that have a special valve to regulate the refrigerant flow in the system. The drier accumulates about half of the refrigerant used in the entire system and removes any excess moisture that may have seeped into the system and possibly contaminated it. The drier is located on the same high pressure line as the condenser, and serves as a filter of sorts before the refrigerant makes its way back into the compressor. The drier might also contain a visual indicator used to view the level of refrigerant in the air conditioning system. Pressure switches and a pressure relief valve may also be placed on the receiver drier.
