The radiator fan is part of the cooling system that allows the transfer of cool air from the outside to replace the ambient heat generated from your engine. Typically belt driven, the radiator fan pulls in fresh, cool air in from the cutouts in the bumper, allowing the air to pass through the radiator. This cool air passing through the radiator cools the hot radiator fluid that has just come from the engine block, and brings it down to a good enough temperature to be passed through once again. Without the use of a radiator fan, your vehicle’s engine would be much more prone to overheating and would have a hard time keeping your engine cool in Houston’s hot summer months.
